Wooden Venetian blinds bring genuine warmth and a natural feel to a home or office, and suit the design-conscious apartments and boutique commercial spaces appearing across Elephant and Castle's regeneration area. Kelly's Blinds fits every blind made to measure, crafted from premium basswood for a high-quality finish.
Available in three slat sizes — 25mm, 35mm and 50mm — the blinds can be matched to the size of the window and the specific aesthetic of the room, whether that's a new apartment near Elephant Park or a period-adjacent office near Strata.
Every wooden venetian blinds installation is measured on site and completed by our own team, not a subcontractor working to a fixed day rate, so the basswood slat performs exactly as specified near Strata and still looks sharp well beyond the first year.
Lead times around Strata can move quickly as new phases of the development complete, so we keep enough basswood slat stock in common finishes to turn a straightforward wooden venetian blinds installation around without the long waits some larger suppliers quote as standard.
A number of our wooden venetian blinds enquiries near Strata come from letting agents and property managers preparing a unit between tenancies, where turnaround time matters as much as the finish. We schedule those jobs with that pressure in mind, without cutting corners on the basswood slat specification itself.
The benefits of wooden Venetian blinds go beyond appearance, particularly regarding natural temperature control and thermal comfort. Because wood has inherent insulation properties, these blinds help maintain an optimal indoor temperature throughout the year, blocking excessive sunlight in summer and acting as an extra barrier against heat loss in winter.
The wood used is sourced from responsibly managed forests, making these blinds an eco-conscious choice. All products are manufactured to meet the European safety standard EN13120, including mechanisms designed for safe use in homes with young children.
The basswood slat is available across a wide range of colours, textures and finishes, so the same wooden venetian blinds specification can suit a minimalist new-build apartment near Elephant Park one week and a more traditional office fit-out the next. Rather than treating colour choice as an afterthought, we work through swatches on site so the final result sits comfortably within the room's existing palette, whether that's a developer's neutral show-home scheme or a business's own brand colours.
Because Elephant and Castle's building stock will keep evolving for years, we see wooden venetian blinds as a long-term investment rather than a quick fix. Every installation is backed by our quality fitting guarantee, so if a mechanism needs adjustment after the first few months of use — entirely normal as a new building settles — our team returns to put it right at no extra cost.

As Elephant and Castle's new residential towers and boutique commercial units mature beyond their first fit-out, more residents and businesses are looking for a warmer, more premium alternative to standard roller or PVC blinds around Elephant Park and Strata.
Wooden Venetian blinds meet that demand directly, made to measure and fitted with the precision needed to sit correctly within modern window frames.
For facilities teams and letting agents, that means a fitting partner who can adapt to a building that is still, in effect, being finished — coordinating around other trades near Elephant Park rather than expecting a fully settled site.
It also means demand is genuinely mixed rather than seasonal: new occupiers are moving into buildings near Elephant Park throughout the year, not just at the start of a typical moving season, which keeps our local fitting schedule busy on a rolling basis.
That pace of change also affects how a fitting service needs to operate day to day: access arrangements, building management contacts and even street names around Elephant Park can shift as each phase completes, so a supplier that only ever worked from an old site plan quickly falls behind.
As Elephant and Castle continues to fill in around Elephant Park and Strata, Kelly's Blinds remains a consistent point of contact for wooden venetian blinds fitting, regardless of which developer or landlord is managing the building.
In contrast to the historic town centre, the Greenwich Peninsula represents the modern face of the district. This area is characterised by high-rise residential towers and contemporary glass-fronted apartments that offer stunning views of the Thames and the Canary Wharf skyline. In these modern settings, the clean lines of wooden blinds help to soften the industrial feel of glass and steel, adding a touch of organic warmth to the interior. Whether you live in a low-rise cottage near the market or a sleek riverside penthouse, the versatile nature of wood allows it to bridge the gap between old and new. The abundance of open spaces and the reflective quality of the river mean that light control is a priority for local residents, making adjustable slats a practical necessity for comfortable London living.
